Objective: To teach and lecture the basic concepts of certain fundamentals necessary for proper deployment of defensive pistol. This course is NOT meant to get students up to a "master" level of proficiency in one course. It is meant to teach certain concepts so that students obtain a basic understanding and then are able to practice at their own leisure.

● Course duration: 4 hours
● Course fee: $95
● Range Utilized: (Private Gun Range)
● Student Equipment Requirements
   ○ Eye and Ear Protection
   ○ Handgun (preferably carry piece)
   ○ 2 Magazines for handgun
   ○ Concealed-carry holster
   ○ 50 rounds ammunition (Can be purchased in class)
   ○ 2 action-proving dummy rounds / snap caps per student. (Can be purchased in class)

Course Schedule:

• Review of Fundamentals: 1hr
• Deploying the Weapon: 1hr
• Supplement to Weapon Deployment: 40 min
• Follow-through / multiple shots on target: 30 min
• Malfunction clearing: 45 min
• Individual Review/Examination: 30 min - 1 hr
• Wrap-Up: 20 min Total course time: 4 hours

This course is designed to supplement our Texas DPS Concealed Handgun License ( CHL ) class in Austin. While it is not required to take the Texas CHL class before you take the advanced pistol class in Austin, we recommend at least some previous experience with pistols before taking the class. If you are new to pistols and do not wish to take the Texas CHL class in Austin, consider taking our beginner pistol class in Austin.
