Disaster Carry Bill

AUSTIN, Texas - Texas House Bill 1177 passed both the Texas House and Senate and was signed by the Governor. The bill will change the laws related to unlawfully carrying weapons.
In short, the bill will allow people with their firearms safe passage through a declared disaster area for one week during a time of declared disaster. The bill will no longer require a person to have a license to carry, even if a person is not in his/her own vehicle or a vehicle under the person's control.
